by Jules Adenis (1823 - 1900)

Je n'en dirai rien
Language: French (Français)
Les seigneurs de la cour
Font, hélas, mon doux maître,
    De l'amour,
    Le désir d’un seul jour
Qui meurt au moment de naître !

    Feu léger,
Ardeur mensongère,
    Rêve passager,
Ombre éphémère
Voilà ce que je pense…
Eh bien ! eh bien !
J’obéis, puisqu’on l’ordonne,
Monseigneur, suis-je bonne ?
Ne voulant me plaindre à personne,
    Non ! Je n'en dirai rien !

Il était autrefois
Une jeune fillette...
    À sa voix
    On cédait à ses lois,
En la nommant sa fauvette !

    Feu léger
Ardeur mensongère, etc.
