Das ist ein Flügelpferd mit Silberschellen,
Das heitere Gesellen
Empor hebt über Heidekraut und Klüfte,
Daß durch den Strom der Lüfte,
Die um den Reisehut melodisch pfeifen,
Des Ernsts Gewalt und Torenlärm der Schlüfte
Als Frühlingsjauchzen nur die Brust mag streifen;
Und so im Flug belauschen
Des trunknen Liedergottes rüstge Söhne,
Wenn alle Höhn und Täler blühn und rauschen,
Im Morgenbad des Lebens ewge Schöne,
Die, in dem Glanz erschrocken,
Sie glühend anblickt aus den dunklen Locken.
