Quand je partis j'avais pour mie, pour mie une bergère!
Mais ne possédais pour lui plaire, lanlère lère que des baisers!
Je l'ai laissée toute attristée par un beau soir de lune!
Et m'en allai chercher fortune loin de ma brune, dans les cités.
Les soirs d'été quand je chantais les vieux chants de nos Pères,
C'était toujours pour ma bergère lanlère lère. Vive l'Amour.
J'ai bien souffert, les nuits d'hiver le long des grandes routes;
Mais je pensais: là-bas ma mie si jolie, sans doute m'aime toujours.
