La religieuse
Language: French (Français)
Ici-bas elle a tout quitté,
Son foyer, ses sœurs et sa mère,
Et dans l'ombre d'un monastère
Elle ensevelit sa beauté.

Le Dieu vivant de charité
L'a vouée au saint ministère ;
Elle console la misère,
Et visite la pauvreté.

Les petits garçons du village,
Bonnet en main sur son passage,
Lui disent tous : Bonjour, ma sœur !

Et, le front ceint d'une auréole,
Entre l'hôpital et l'Ecole,
Elle va partageant son cœur.

Confirmed with Revue historique, littéraire et archéologique de l'Anjou, Septième Année, Tome Premier - Juillet-aout 1874, Angers, Imprimerie-Librairie de E. Barassé, p. 42.
