Zwei Rosen, lieblich anzuschaun
Language: German (Deutsch)
Zwei Rosen, lieblich anzuschaun,
Erblüht am Morgenhauche,
Umschloß derselbe Gartenzaun,
Doch an verschiednem Strauche.

Ach, das wir angewurzelt sind,
Seufzt jedes Röschen bange,
Sonst drücken wir wohl pfeilgeschwind
Einander Wang' an Wange.

Da kam ein Bursch' und brach sie beid',
Wie rauhes Sturmestosen,
Und bracht' sie seiner Herzensmaid,
Die beiden schönen Rosen.

Da blühten sie an holder Brust,
Doch blühten, ach!  nicht lange;
Sie welkten; aber welche Lust --
Sie welkten -- Wang' an Wange!
