by Bernhard Ferdinand Julius Endrulat (1828 - 1886)

Was schaust du nur zum Himmel?
Language: German (Deutsch)
Was schaust du nur zum Himmel?
Laß ab, mein Herz, laß ab!
Vom Himmel fallen die Sterne,
Dein Glück fällt nicht herab.

Und kommt die Sonne Morgens,
So laß es still geschehn!
Sie glänzt und leuchtet den andern,
Du bleibst im Schatten stehn.

Viel bunte, duft'ge Blumen
Erschließt das holde Licht;
Die flicht zum Kranze die Liebe,
Doch deiner denkt sie nicht.

Doch still! es kommt ein Abend,
Da sind in stummer Reih'
Viel kühle Betten bereitet,
Und deins ist auch dabei!
