Sie sind so schön, die milden, sonnenreichen,
verträumten Tage früher Herbsteszeiten,
die über See, Gebirg und Matten breiten,
ein Schimmen, Leuchten Strahlen ohnegleichen.

Und grelle Lichter, tiefe Schatten weichen,
und aufgetan und klar sind alle Weiten.
Und Du verstehst die tiefsten Heimlichkeiten,
des Sommers heiße Farben, sie verbleichen.

Mit einer Milde, die kein Wort Dir nennt,
fühlst Du des Sommers Hauch herüberwehen,
ein süßes Erinnern, das von ihm geblieben.
Und was mein Herz seit langem liebt und kennt
in neuem Licht seh' ich's vor mir erstehen
und lieb' es neu mit tieferm, reiferm Lieben.

Són tan bonics els suaus, assolellats,
somiosos dies del temps primerenc de la tardor,
els que damunt llacs, muntanyes i prades escampen
una resplendor i raigs de llum sense parió.

I les llums enlluernadores, les ombres profundes minven
i clares i obertes estan totes les contrades.
I tu copses els insondables secrets
dels càlids colors de l’estiu, ells empal·lideixen.

Amb una dolcesa que no et diu cap paraula,
sents rebufar enllà l’alè de l’estiu,
un dolç record que d’ell ens resta.
I allò que el meu cor de fa temps coneix i estima 
ho veig aparèixer davant meu amb una nova llum
i ho estimo de bell nou amb un amor més profund, més madur.
