First published in Anthologie auf das Jahr 1782, anonymously edited by Schiller with the fake publishing information "Gedrukt in der Buchdrukerei zu Tobolsko", actually published by Johann Benedict Metzler in Stuttgart. The poem (pages 196-198) has the subtitle "Eine Kantate" and "M." as the author's name.

El plany gemegós ja ha passat! Els joiosos galeigs de l’Elisi han ofegat totes les penes. La vida a l’Elisi, delit etern, per sempre flotant, un sonorós rierol travessa prades rialleres. Jovenívol i bonancenc, plana pels camps l’etern mes de maig; les hores s’enfugen en somnis daurats, l’ànima s’expandeix en espais sense límits. Aquí la veritat esquinça el vel en dos trossos. Un goig sense fi fa fremir el cor. Aquí el nom de la tristor del dol és absent, a un dolç encís se l’anomena pena. Aquí el romeu pelegrí distén els seus coents, fatigats membres en ombres mormolejants, deixa anar el seu fardell per sempre més – aquí el segador deixa caure la falç, adormit per ressonàncies d’arpa i somia que veu la palla tallada. Aquell que veié la seva senyera sacsejada per les tempestes, a qui, a les orelles, ressonaren criminals bramuls i veié muntanyes tremolar sota les tronades, dorm aquí dolçament prop del corrent del rierol que, argentat i juganer, corre damunt els còdols; el soroll de ferotges llances es perd en l’eco. Aquí s’abracen els cònjuges fidels, es besen damunt verdes, vellutades prades, acaronats pel balsàmic vent de ponent; aquí l’amor troba la seva corona, protegit dels durs embats de la mort, celebrant una eterna festa de noces.
