lehvät vavahtelevat tuulessa,
olkoon talvi tulossa ja linnut vaietkoot
– ilmaiseksi emme saaneet, monta niitä on,
metsät suhisevat, 
lehvät vavahtelevat tuulessa,
olkoon talvi tulossa ja linnut vaietkoot,
monta niitä on,
mutta perhonen lentää hohtavana,
valkovuokko hymyilee, ruis aaltoilee,
syksyt kypsyvät,
joulukynttiläkin tulee mieleen.

Metsät suhisevat,
