by Henri Cazalis (1840 - 1909), as Jean Lahor

Soir de Pâques
Language: French (Français)
Criant, fuyant à tire-d'ailes,
Dans le crépuscule profond,
Là-haut, là-haut les hirondelles,
Alleluia ! dansent en rond.

Là-haut, là-haut tournent les mondes ;
La lune monte tout en feu ;
Les étoiles forment des rondes ;
Alleluia ! le ciel est bleu :

Et mon âme tout à coup folle
Quitte son corps, s'échappe et fuit,
Et mêlée aux oiseaux s'envole,
Pour danser comme eux dans la nuit !

Confirmed with Jean Lahor, L'Illusion, 3rd edition, Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1893, page 61.
