Mädchengarten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Rosen stehn im Mädchengarten,
rote Rosen — Rosen rot.
Rosen hüten und zu warten
hat man seine liebe Not.

Kaum daß sich die Blüte schaukelt
in der blauen Frühlingsluft,
kommt ein Falter angegaukelt
und er trinkt den Rosenduft.

Und die Rose neigt sich leise
und sie [schaut kein]1 ander Ding,
als im holden Gaukelkreise
ihren bunten Schmetterling.

Wie ihr könnt in Büchern lesen,
in Historien groß und klein,
es ist immer so gewesen —
ach, dann muß es wohl so sein.

Und wie bunte Falter kosen
überall, wo Blumen blühn,
muß wohl allen Mädchenrosen
Hymens holde Fackel glühn.

Rosen hüten und zu warten
hat man seine liebe Not.
Rosen stehn im Mädchengarten,
rote Rosen — Rosen rot.
