by Friedrich Christoph Förster (1791 - 1868)

Getreu
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Frühling naht, die Rosen glühen,
ich grüßte sie mit frommer Scheu.
Sie lächeln wohl, doch sie verblühen;
o bleibe du mein Herz getreu!

Des schönen Tags vergang'ne Stunden
bringt uns kein Morgen wieder neu.
Ach, was dahin ist, ist entschwunden;
o bleibe du mein Herz getreu!

Entflieht das Lied, das du gesungen,
auf luft'gen Schwingen leicht und frei,
dies eine Wort sei nie verklungen:
O bleibe du mein Herz getreu!
