du, hvem Gud lod bære frem på jorden 
himmeriges julegave, 
Kriste milde! 
Intet liv går mer til spilde,
ingen sjæl går tabt ved dommen,
thi du er kommen.

Freu dich, Engelsherrscherin,
die aus heil’gen Höhen strahlet,
Quell, aus dem ein unergründlich 
Licht sich um die Erde breitet.

Sie gegrüßt, du steter Trost und Beistand Aller,
du, die Gott auf Erden
ein Geschenk zur Weihnacht bringen ließ,
Christus, das holde Kind!
Kein Leben geht mehr verloren,
und keine Seele mehr beim Jüngsten Gericht,
denn du bist gekommen.
