De witte Winter die was vergangen,
De lieve Lente, die kwam er al aan.
Met knoppen stond het woud behangen,
De bloemekens wachtten om open te gaan.

't Was bij het krieken al van den dage,
heel de aarde was er zoo schoone bedauwd!
Dat zonnestralen op d'akkers lagen,
al vanen, vlaggen van blinkend goud!

Ons Lieve Vrouwken, dit bruid vol waarde,
Zij lei haar kindje te slapen in 't kruid.
Het Paradijs keerde wêer op aarde,
En al de bloemekens sproten wêer uit!
