by Johan Sebastian Cammermeyer Welhaven (1807 - 1873)

Den blide Dag
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Nu glimrer Solnedgangen smukt
paa Bjergets mørke Tind,
og fra dets Bryst med langsom Flugt
hensvæver Aftnens Vind.
Den leger her saa let og mild
med Birkens Gren og Blad,
som naar en Cither røres til
et sagte nynnet Kvad.

Den Dag, der nu er sunket ned,
gik blid og fager hen;
med idel Klarhed og med Fred
omslutted Himlen den.
En enkelt Sky med Svanebryst
hang rolig i det Blaa,
som om den over Dalens Lyst
i sød Betragtning laae.

Og i mit Indre udbredt var
en stille Fredens Aand,
mit Liv var som en Blomst, jeg bar
udfoldet i min Haand.
Min Sjel er rørt af Aftnens Vind,
som Birkens Gren og Blad;
jeg skuer glad i Himlen ind
og nynner dette Kvad.
