Lorsque les cieux sont des jardins de firmaments
Dont les roses de feux s'effeuillent, inouïes,
Sur les rosiers fermés de nos jardins dormants,

Tu descendras au fond du val plein de mystère
Que la brume enveloppe ainsi que d'un mantel,
Et, quand tu jetteras ton voile noir à terre,
Le pré sera féru d'éblouissement tel

Que les roses d'en haut éteindront leur pétale,
Mille chauves-souris vers toi s'envoleront ;
Quand sous la volupté que ta splendeur étale
