by Katri Vala (1901 - 1944)

Vaellus
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Silmiesi hellyys on ylläni
virvoittaen minut,
niinkuin lempeä sadepilvi virvoittaa
janoisen maan.

Käsi kädessäsi
loistaen silmiesi alla
kuljen ohi kesän lämpimäin kasvojen,
yli hymyilevän, ihanan ruohon.
Mutta tiedän liian onnellisten kohtalon:
talvi on lähellä,
vain kukka, ei koskaan hedelmää.

Nopein askelin,
käsi kädessäsi
loistaen silmiesi alla
kuljen yli ihanan maan,
joka huutaa minua,
kuljen lyhyen kesäni lakkaamatta
niin kuin Lapin aurinko.
