Kuolema
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Kun olin hyvin nuori,
kun olin lähellä kukkivaa maata,
aurinkoa ja humisevia puita,
pelkäsin sinua, kuolema.

Nyt seison niiden joukossa,
jotka odottavat rannalla,
jotka katsovat väsynein silmin
pimeälle merelle,
milloin laivasi tulet näkyvät.

Me emme tiedä mitään julmempaa kuin elämä,
siksi me odotamme vapahdusta sinulta,
josta emme mitään tiedä.
Kun annat merkin,
astumme laivaasi hiljaisesti toivoen:
hyvyys, uusi kauneus,
ehkä vapautta, kirkkautta kenties?
