Fliederträume
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG

Lilac dreams
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Do you know that they came hither with the blissful breezes,
Those violet blossoms with the wondrous names?
Do you know what the blossoms are called, whose clusters infuse the breezes,
Whose smiles are the bliss of love and whose breath is fervent scents?
Do you still think of those nights in which sweetly intoxicated foams,
Pale violet colours surged us into our first dreams?
Do you sometimes still think of the stars to which the nightingale sang,
Tell me, do memories yet pass now and then through your soul as well?
Dreaming memories I gather again when I pick the blossoms,
Tell me, does your soul as well still dream of the pale lilacs of love?!
