An diesem Fliederbaume
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
An diesem Fliederbaume,
Da saßen wir, ich und du,
Da schwurst du mit glühenden Küssen
Mir ewige Liebe zu.

Du hast die Treue gebrochen,
Du hast meine Liebe verlacht,--
Stand auch die Sonn' am Himmel,
Mir war's wie finstre Nacht.

Mir war es wie zum Sterben--
Ich wußte ja noch nicht,
Was unser Herz erduldet,
Bis es im Tode bricht.

Nun steh ich einsam wieder
Am selben Fliederbaum--
Und all mein ganzes Leben
War nur ein leerer Traum.
