Inmitten von Blüthen, inmitten vom Mai,
da jubeln die Herzen, da athmen sie frei!
Es lächelt im Frühling die ganze Natur,
es singet im Walde, es klingt in der Flur.

Inmitten der Freundschaft so herzig und treu,
da lebt sich's so fröhlich wie mitten im Mai.
Allüberall Freude, allüberall Lust,
ein Leben voll Hoffen in klopfender Brust.

Inmitten der Liebe, tiefinnig und wahr,
da spiegelt das Höchste im Auge sich klar.
Sie schlürft von den Blüthen die Seligkeit ein,
und strömt aus dem Herzen zum Herzen hinein.

O Freude, o Wonne, im blühenden Mai!
kein Frühling, es sei denn die Liebe dabei!
Wenn Freundschaft und Blüthen auch Alle erfreu'n, 
die Liebe verkündet den Himmel allein!
