by Christian Winther (1796 - 1876)

Bøgen skyder alt sit Blad
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Bøgen skyder alt sit Blad,
Lysegrønt og sundt og saftigt;
Lærken synger, foraarsglad, —
Efter Natteduggens Bad
Dufte Græs og Blomster kraftigt.

Føler du den milde Vaar?
Elskte! Hører du de Sange,
Der, liig Stjerneskud, fremgaaer
Høit fra Himlens Hvælving, naar
Du betræder Havens Gange?

Skimter du Violens Blaae?
Aander du dens friske Sødme?
Sees du tankefuld at gaae
Hvor de grønne Linde staae
Glimrende i Aftnens Rødme?

Eller sidder du nu gjemt
I din stille, sikkre Stue?
Mens dit Hjerte, tungt, beklemt,
For Naturens Fryd ei stemt,
Maa ved hvert et Fodtrin grue?

Nei! — jeg veed, du dvæler ei
Svag i Sorgens Fængselsskranke,
Og din Sjæl ei sygner — nei!
Kjæk paa alt det Skjønnes Vei
Sender du din stærke Tanke.

Derfor er det, Skjønhed har
Samlet huldt sig om din Vandring;
Derfor den, beslægtet, bar
Dig sin Fakkel lige klar
Under al dit Livs Forandring!
