by Christian Winther (1796 - 1876)

Jeg elsker dig! — og aldrig rolig
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Jeg elsker dig! — og aldrig rolig
Min Tanke sværmer om dit Fjed;
Og Hjertet sprænge vil sin Bolig,
Vil ud — vil ud og sværme med.
Som i en Drøm, som i en Ruus
Jeg følger selv mit Hjertes Vildhed.
Og vaagner tidt i Nattens Stilhed
Med Blikket paa dit mørke Huus.

En Flor af Elskovstanker søde
Da spirer op og myldrer frem;
De klinge, bæve, dufte, gløde, -
Men ak! du aldrig aner dem;
Thi, naar jeg seer dig, og min Aand
Sig i din Ynde dybt tør sænke,
Da er min Tanke lagt i Lænke,
Og Læben — hviler paa din Haand.

Saa tag da Blomsterne, jeg sender,
Og lad dem være mine Bud;
Min Tanke kysser dine Hænder
Med Tak, du Elskede! til Gud.
Hvad ei mit Ord, hvad ingen Klang,
Men kun et Blik dig tolke kunde,
Skal dig de tause Blomstermunde
Forkynde — duftende en Sang!
