Bate vêntul bate tare Bate de la răsărit, Şi'mĭ aduce dor de mare Dor de lung călătorit. Duce m'aş atuncĭ în lume, Fără să mă maĭ opresc. Prin pustiurĭ fără nume, Marĭ ca golu-mĭ sufletesc Duce-m'aş viaţa tótă, Ca să scap d'al vieţeĭ chin, Pân' în lumea ce-al-laltă, D'unde ceĭ duşĭ nu maĭ vin.
