Ai! Em miraves a la cara, tan ingènua, tan plena d'innocència angèlica, no et podies imaginar el triomf de la teva beutat! Oh Theone! No veies el neguitós esguard de l'amor suspès als teus ulls? La vermellor de les meves galtes, no et donava un besllum de sospita de la pau que el meu cor sense esperança havia perdut? És com si un oceà ens hagués separat després d'aquesta primera, subtil estreta de mà!
