Voga, o Tonio benedeto,
Voga, voga, arranca, arranca:
Beppe el suda el batte l'anca,
Poverazzo el nol pò più.

Caro Beppe el me vecchieto,
No straccarte col te remo;
Za ghe semo, za ghe semo,
Spinze, daghe, voga più.

Ziel pietoso, una novizza
C'ha el so ben nella regada,
Fala, o zielo, consolada,
No la far stentarde più.

Die venezianische Regatta
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Italian (Italiano)
 Ruder, o guter Tonio
 Ruder, ruder, ruder feste,
 Beppe schwitzt und schlägt nach Kräften,
 armer Kerl, er kann nicht mehr.

 Lieber Beppe, mein alter Knabe,
 mach nicht schlapp an deinem Ruder;
 Wir sind gleich da, wir sind gleich da,
 Hau rein, bleib dran, ruder weiter!

 Gütiger Himmel, ein junges Mädchen
 das seinen Liebsten in der Regatta hat,
 tröste sie, o Himmel,
 lass sie sich nicht länger quälen.
