by Domenico di Giovanni (1404 - 1449), as Burchiello

Va in mercato
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Va in mercato, Giorgin, tien qui un grosso,
togli una libbra e mezzo di Castrone,
dallo spicchio del petto, o dall'arnione;
dì a Peccion, che non ti dia tropp'osso.
Ispacciati, sta su, mettiti indosso,
e fa di comperare un buon Poppone,
fiutalo, che non sia zucca o melone;
tollo dal sacco, che non sia percosso.
Se de' buon non n'avessero i Foresi,
ingegnati averne un da' pollajuoli;
costi, che vuole, che son bene spesi.
Togli un mazzo fra cavolo e fagiuoli;
un mazzo, non dir poi "io non t'intesi";
e del resto, toi fichi castagnuoli,
colti senza picciuoli.
Che la balia abbia tolto loro il latte,
e siansi azzuffati colle gatte.
