L'oasis
Language: French (Français)
Available translation(s): ENG
Au sein du désert enflammé
Il est un coin tout parfumé
De vert feuillage et de mystère.
La brise y chante jour et nuit
Et du creux des rochers jaillit
Une source qui désaltère.
Le soleil, sous l'ombrage en fleurs,
N'a plus que d'exquises douceurs
Pour la caravane en souffrance
Et voici, le long des palmiers,
Dans les coeurs soudain reveillès
Passer un souffle d'espérance
Oasis, oasis d'amour,
Accueille moi, divin séjour
Où le front courbé se relève,
Pour qu'après les simouns maudits
Je retrouve en ton paradis
La fraîcheur de mon premier rêve.

The oasis
Language: English  after the French (Français)
In the heart of the burning desert
[There] is a corner all perfumed
With green foliage and mystery.
The breeze sings there day and night
And from the hollow of the rocks gushes
A spring which quenches [thirst].
The sun, under the shade in bloom,
[Holds] nothing but exquisite mildness
For the caravan in suffering...
And here, along the palms,
In [their] hearts suddenly awakened
Pass[es] a breath of hope.
Oasis, oasis of love,
Welcome me, divine sojourn
Where the bowed [face] lifts itself,
So that after the cursed desert winds
I [may] find in your paradise
The freshness of my first dream.
