Neue Sonne, Gefühl des Ermattens
vermischt mit hingebendem Freuen;
aber noch mehr fast ergreift mich die Unschuld des neuen 
Schattens.

Schatten des frühesten Laubes, das du durchhellst,
Schatten der Blüten - : wie klar!
Wie du dich, wahres, nirgends verstellst,
offenes Jahr.

Unser Dunkel sogar wird davon zarter,
genau so rein war vielleicht sein Ursprung.
Und einmal war das alte Schwarz aller Marter
so jung.
