Die Seefahrt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Es zieht sich zwischen Bergen
Der See romantisch hin,
In seinen Wellen zittert
Der weite Himmel darin.
Viel tausend Sternlein schauen
Mit gold'nen Augen empor;
Aus eilenden Wolken schreitet
Der bleiche Mond hervor.
Ich schaukle zwischen Sternen
Und Wolken hin und her,
Mir ist so wohl! so selig!
Als ob ich im Himmel wär'.

The cruise
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
It lies between mountains,
this romantic lake,
In its waves trembles
The wide sky’s reflection.
Many thousand little stars look up
With golden eyes;
From the turbulent clouds
Emerges the pale moon.
I rock back and forth
Between stars and clouds,
To me, everything is so complete, so holy!
As if I were in heaven.
