possibly by Carl Ernst Kohlhauer (b. 1815) and possibly by Paul Wigand (1786 - 1866)

Mutter und Kind
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Kleine rief vom Schlaf erwacht,
  Beim frühen Morgenlicht:
„Ach, Mutter, pflück' mir einen Strauß“; --
„„Mein Kind, das geht ja nicht,
Die Blume will noch schlafen.““

„Sag, Mutter, träumt die Blume auch?“ --
  „„Ja, ja, mein liebes Kind,
Sie träumet von dem Sonnenschein
  Und von dem Frühlingswind --““
„Ach, Mutter, laß sie träumen.“

Confirmed with Lyrisches Album aus dem Lahngan, herausgegeben von Dr. Paul Wigand, Gießen, J. Ricker'sche Buchhandlung, 1858, page 222, from Bunter Liederkranz von den Genannten. All previous sections indicate a poet's name, and the last section so named was by Paul Wigand, but this section could also be a mix of unnamed (but previously named) poets. Fr. Pazdírek's Universal-Handbuch der Musikliteratur aller Völker indicates the poet of this text is "Kohlhauer" and there is a previous section in Lyrisches Album for poetry by Carl Ernst Kohlhauer, but we have not yet found any other poetic source to indicate that this poem should be attributed to him.
