Wer allein hier steht und unbeacht't,
dem bringen wir Trost in der einsamen Nacht;
wer Tag's hier leidet im Herzensgrunde,
den stärken wir in der Mitternachtsstunde.
Die Stunde, die uns den Heiland gegeben,
die gibt einen Trost für den bittersten Schmerz,
einen Trost für die, so im Glauben leben,
und Töne vom Chore der Sel'gen schweben
hernieder und sinken ins menschliche Herz.
