Gefangen

Caught
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The butterflies ar e'er restless From flower to flower flitting; I too as a butterfly sought change, The next flow'r ever quitting. I too have on lips and on forehead Full many a flow'ret kissed, And always onward I wandered, Not one have ever I missed! At last I now am a pris'ner In love's sweet captivity, And from these lips of roses Myself I'll ne'er kiss free.
From the Meyer-Helmund score.
