by Julius Rodenberg (1831 - 1914)

Stromfahrt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mit dem Wind, den Wellen,
Geht das Schiff zu Tal;
Grüne Ufer stellen
Sich im Sonnenstral.

Ros'ge Wolfen gaukeln
Leicht im Morgenwind,
Und die Wellen schaukeln
Unser Boot gelind.

Berg und Tal verschwinden --
O wie reich beglückt,
Immer Neues finden,
Was das Herz entzückt.

Fröliches Gewimmel
Spiegelt ab den Strand,
Hier den blauen Himmel,
Dort das grüne Land.

Bald ein schmuckes Städtchen,
Burg und Kloster bald;
Hier ein schönes Mädchen,
Dort den kühlsten Wald.

Fehlt auch nicht ein Andrer,
Der sich gern gesellt -- --
Dreimal Heil dem Wandrer!
Ihm gehört die Welt.

Confirmed with Lieder von Julius von Rodenberg, Dritte Auflage, Hannover, Carl Rümpler, 1854, pages 103-104.
