Volshebnicza
Language: Russian (Русский)
Volshebnicza, skazhi, kakaya sila
Vlechet menya k pokinuty'm strunam?
Kakoj ogon` ty' v serdce zaronila,
Kakoj vostorg razlilsya po perstam?

Davno li ya, ubity'j, bezotradny'j
V zhestokoj grusti tajno izny'val,
Davno l` k tebe, beschuvstvenny'j i xladny'j,
Tvoj chisty'j dar s prezren`em otvergal!

Vdrug ves` volshebny'j mir voobrazhen`ya
Otkry'lsya mne v prelestnejshix mechtax,
I probudilas` zhazhda pesnopen`ya,
I vspy'xnul ogn` na radostny'x strunax.

V goryashhem serdce vy'my'sly' rodyatsya,
I dumy' roem v`yutsya nado mnoj,
Mel`knut, ischeznut, snova vkrug tolpyatsya…
Zaby'to vse… son, radost` i pokoj!

Note: the poem is quoted by L. Tolstoy in War and Peace but it was not written by Tolstoy.
