from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Kak na dubchike dva golubchika
Language: Russian (Русский)
Kak na dubchike dva golubchika
Upovalisja, milovalisja.
Sizy kryl'jami obnimalisja.
Otkl' ni vzjalsja mlad jasen sokol:
On ushib, ubil siza golubja,
Siza golubja mokhnonogova,
Prolil krov' jego po syru dubu;
On kidal per'ja po chistu polju;
Pustil pukh jego po podnebes'ju.
Kak rastuzhitsja, razvorkujetsja
Tut golubushka po golubchike,
Po golubchike mokhnonogen'kom.
Kak vozgovorit mlad jasen sokol:
«Ne plach', sizaja ty golubushka,
Po svojem sizom golubchike:
Polechu li ja na sine more,
Prigonju k tebe golubej stado;
Vybiraj sebe siza golubja,
Siza golubja mokhnonogova».
Kak vozgovorit tut golubushka:
«Ne leti, sokol, na sine more,
Ne goni ko mne golubej stado:
Ved' to budet mne uzh drugoj venec,
Malym detushkam uzh drugoj otec».
