Här har ni kontrabandieren! 
Som vet respekt sig att skaffa. 
Faror och hinder jag trotsar, 
fruktan jag känner för ingen. 
Alltid glad till humöret 
över berg och genom skog jag färdas. 
Bjuder ut mina varor. 
Vem vill köpa tobak eller siden?

Jag ser nog min grålle är trötter, 
men kan ej hjälpas, ty skynda vi måste; 
Patrullen oss eljest kniper. 
Och då det blir spektakel, kan man tro! 
Trava på! Trava duktigt! 
Lägg iväg, min raska grålle! 
När vi hinna bortom gränsen, 
skall du njuta vilans ro.

Kom hit och se, ja se, tobak siden! 
Kom hit och kö, ja köp! 
Här har ni kontrabandieren, 
ja, jag är den glade kontrabandieren.
