Sah im Traum als gestern ich aufs Bett gesunken
dich du Heißgeliebter, dich im Meer ertrunken,
dich im Tod erblassen und dein Roß erschlagen . . . 
Ach, wen soll ich liebend nun im Herzen tragen! 

Starbst du Heißgeliebter, werd' auch ich es wagen,
soll man in ein einzig Grab uns beide tragen,
bei der Schloßkapelle in die Gruft uns senken,
und auf goldner Tafel uns'rer Namen denken. 

Wer da geht vorüber, Jeder wird es lesen: 
Was da ruht, die Liebe selber ist's gewesen.
