נָטֹף נָטְפָה הַדִּמְעָה – וַיִּפֹּל קַו-אוֹר וַיַּכֶּנָּה, צִנָּה הִכְּתָה לְבָבִי: עוֹד אַחַת מְעַט – וְדִמְעָתִי אֵינֶנָּה. וּבְחֹסֶר כֹּל אֵלֵךְ, וְצַר-לִי מְאֹד – הִיא דָלָלָה – וְאַף לֵב עָרֵל אֶחָד לֹא-נָקְבָה, אַף לֹא מִקְצָת שֵׁנָה גָּזָלָה. וְאָנָה אוֹלִיךְ אֶת-עָנְיִי, וַאֲנִי אָנָה בָא? עַל-מִשְׁכָּבִי אֶמְצֶה דִמְעָה עוֹד אַחַת, מַחֲצִיתָהּ לָכֶם וּמַחֲצִיתָהּ לִלְבָבִי. וְהָאוֹר אֵחַר לָבוֹא וְרָפֶה הָאוֹר מֵהַחֲיוֹתֵנִי; שֶׁמֶשׁ אַחַת בַּמָּרוֹם וְשִׁיר יָחִיד לַלֵּב וְאֵין שֵׁנִי.
