by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter (1746 - 1797)

Der Bund
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lieb' und Schweigen ist der Bund.
Wohl! Ich will ihn ehren,
tief in meines Herzens Grund
mein Gefühl verschließen
und ein Siegel drücken
auf den pflichtvergess'nen Mund.
Lieb' und Schweigen ist der Bund,
aber meine Zähren
kann ich nicht ersticken.
Lass, o lass sie fließen!
Tränen brechen nicht den Bund.

Confirmed with Der deutsche Dichterwald, Bd. 1, O. F. Gruppe (Hrsg.).
