Ton regard luit toujours sur moi, tranquille et beau,
Et, pareil aux rayons des pâles nuits polaires,
M'illumine de ses clartés crépusculaires.

Oh ! quelquefois pour nous les liens les plus forts
Sont ces regards lointains qui nous viennent des morts !
Et comme il est puissant, ô mortes bien aimées,
L'invisible baiser de vos lèvres fermées !
