by (Sidonie-Gabrielle) Colette (1873 - 1954)

Que tu as l'air bête
Language: French (Français)
Mais que tu as donc l’air bête
aujourd’hui, ma fille !
D’ailleurs tu es beaucoup plus jolie
quand tu as l’air bête. C’est dommage
que cela t’arrive si rarement. Tu pèches
déjà, comme moi, par excès
d’expression. J’ai toujours l’air, quand
j’égare mon dé, d’avoir perdu un parent
bien-aimé… Quand tu prends l’air bête,
tu as les yeux plus grands, la bouche
entrouverte, et tu rajeunis … A quoi
penses-tu ? A rien ? Je ne te crois pas,
mais c’est très bien imité. Vraiment très
bien, ma fille. Tu es un miracle de
gentillesse et de fadeur !
