by Thekla Lingen (1866 - 1931)

Reue
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun muss ich liegen und weinen
Die schweren Nächte lang,
Nur immer das Eine denken
Und seufzen tief und bang.

Es ist meine Sonne gesunken,
Es rauscht eine dunkle Flut,
Ich bin so müde geworden,
Gefallen mein hoher Mut.

Ich soll dem Einen folgen
Und kann nicht mit ihm gehn, --
Es bleibt die zage Seele
An des Hauses Schwelle stehn.
