Milda stjärnehär, som i den dunkla rymden brinner,
stråla evigt där, din klara ban en gång jag hinner.
Sänker du dig ned, skänker du mig frid,
tändes också blid din rena låga i mitt bröst.
Stråla, stråla ned, fyll min själ med hopp,
flamma åter opp, en trogen bild av himmelsk tröst!
Vindens tunga sus uti de mörka skogar klagar.
Stormens vilda brus uti de mörka hjärtan jagar.
Dock ditt klara lugn skall svalka glöden i min själ,
och din still ro skall i mitt hjärta bo.
