Gråt kan mig intet mer än löje båta.

Fast jag ej prunkar fram i stickta kläder, 
bepryder ej min hatt en brokot fjäder; 
hur mången som med borg bepryder baken 
skull, om var toge sitt igen, gå naken?

Därföre vill jag alltid lustig vara 
och i min ungdomstid ej glädjen spara. 
Sorg kommer tidigt nog när åldern kommer 
Då jag mot viljan min måste bliva frommer.
