Die Nixe sang zur Dämmerstund'
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Nixe sang zur Dämmerstund',
Die Nixe sang im Wellengrund
  Ganz leise;
Am Ufer spielt ein blondes Kind,
Es trug zu ihm der Abendwind
  Die wundersüße Weise.

Da schlief das Kind im Dämmerschein,
Da schlief das Kind in Tränen ein
  Für immer.
Und als die Totenglocke klang,
Durchzog die Luft ein Grabgesang ...
  So schönen hört' ich nimmer.
