Sanfter Schlaf
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Soll man sonder Anstoss ruhen
wenn der Blick des tages flieht,
muß der Kummer in den Schuhen,
die man von den füssen zieht,
vor dem Bette stehen bleiben,
Und so hält es auch mein Sinn:
grillen, die den Schlaf vertreiben,
werf' ich mit den Kleidern hin.

Überflüss'ge nahrungssorgen
hab' ich niemals zu verleih'n;
wer dergleichen denkt zu borgen,
spreche ja ben mir nicht ein.
Tage, die noch kommen sollen,
kränken mich nicht vor der Zeit.
Will der Beutel mit mir schmollen,
die Geduld hebt unsern streit.
