by Christian Richardt (1831 - 1892)

Skjønne, sjunkne Fredriksborg
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Skjønne, sjunkne Fredriksborg,
før vor Glæde, nu vor Sorg, —
kunde Danmarks Taarer slukke,
skulde atter frem Du dukke,
skjønne, sjunkne Fredriksborg!

Kongen, han er husvild nu;
stakkels Konge, husvild Du,
Du som gav vor Frihed Taarne,
som gav Hus for Folkets Kaarne,
stakkels Konge, husvild Du!

Danmarks Stolthed lagt i Grus,
Danmarks bedste gamle Hus;
Gud lad ingen Røverflamme
Folkets egen Arne ramme,
lægge Danmark selv i Grus!
