by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

Die Nacht liegt duftschwer auf dem Parke
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Nacht liegt duftschwer auf dem Parke,
und ihre Sterne schauen still,
wie schon des Mondes weiße Barke
im Lindenwipfel landen will.

Fern hör ich die Fontäne hallen
ein Märchen, das ich längst vergaß,—
und dann ein leises Apfelfallen
ins hohe, regungslose Gras.

Der Nachtwind schwebt vom nahen Hügel
und trägt durch alte Eichenreihn
auf seinem blauen Faltcrflügel
den schweren Duft vom jungen Wein.
