O Männersang, o Männersang, was gleichet dir auf Erden! Zum Sternendom steigt auf dein Strom, um ew'ger Klang zu werden. Noch sind wir froh, lasst Ach und O, bis wir zu Grabe sinken, und singet laut: Auf Gott vertraut, so lang' noch Sterne blinken. Ja, Liederglut ist höchstes Gut im wilden Erdendrange, denn alle Lust der Menschenbrust ertönet im Gesange.
